I had high expectations for this game, thinking that Harmonix would have learned from the first and improved. After playing the first song I was very disappointed to see that the gameplay is almost identical to RB1. I had hoped for some smoother guitar mechanics, because I believe that the Guitar Hero guitar blows this away, however it is exactly the same as the first, it is still hard to do things such as hammer ons, solos I can easily play in Guitar Hero I fail on this game. It’s like you are required to hit the notes too exact and if you are a millisecond off it won’t register. Also I hate that there is no sound or anything to tell you when you miss a note. I could be shredding away on a solo thinking I was right on, but in fact slightly missing all of the notes and failing the song.

The drums I think have improved, I found the songs to be a little more manageable. I just hate that there is such a huge gap between difficulties. Some songs I will fail almost instantly on hard, then on medium I am able to get over 90%

The song list is very impressive, and I was pleased to see that the beginning songs are a little harder than RB1. It was also kind of cool that all of my downloaded songs automatically appeared on the song list.

All of the game modes from RB1 return, and are almost the same as on RB1. They took out solo mode and added it into tour mode which is cool if you are playing both by yourself and with friends. I have never been a fan of tour mode though, I am forced to play the same songs over again. Then I get fans which supposedly mark your progress, and cash to buy new outfits. I don’t know about most people but I liked it when I beat a song I was rewarded with a new song to play, and not forced to play that same song and 3 others I’ve already played 5 times, then get some new songs.

There is a new mode called battle of the bands which is kinda like a high score challenge for certain songs, and there is a challenge mode which both seemed kind of pointless. Also there is a drum trainer, I tried and thought it would help to play the songs better, but it really didn’t help anything. And NO it does not teach you to play real drums, I teach real drums and all my students tell me they can play rockband on expert, but it is very different. I had also heard that I would be able to play along with songs from my hard drive. I was very disappointed to find that all it does is lets you free drum, and you turn on the music from the x-box menu. The music is not integrated into the game at all, you are just playing over the song that is not in any way connected to rock band

Overall I think that this game should have been called Rock Band 1. 5 because it does not at all feel like a new game. There is almost no improvements, and the only thing you are really paying for is the new songs. I will most likely be selling this game after I beat it, to get money for Guitar Hero World Tour which looks much more promising.

Doesn’t matter if the game is good, if it comes broken and you can’t play it. Talked with the customer “service” and they require a receipt for a christmas gift, which I don’t have. It was a gift from my kids grandparents. Like I’m going to use the wireless controller with anything else.

God forbid they test the product before the sell it.

Well, this game has awful graphics. They look like Pacman! Awful. Very outdated. And the set list has too much oldies crap like Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller Band, etc. . . However, it does have some awesome bands like Disturbed, System Of A Down, Linkin Park and Paramore. I can’t believe they have some old Metallica sons on it! They should’ve included “Some Kind Of Monster” from St. Anger instead. Any why no Limp Bizkit?!

This very expensive, and delicate, product was dumped on our front door step in a flimsy box with no packing protection, where anyone could steal it. The packaging and delivery of this very expensive and delicate product was irresponsible and unforgivable.

Stay away from Xbox 360! they are crooks. My system lasted only 1 1/2 years, just out of warranty and had an overheating issue. I paid them 100. 00 up front to fix, they sent it back refusing to fix it saying it was “tampered” with. That was two months ago, they still have not refunded my money. I have went to many forums, and they all talk about the same thing, overheating issues, or RROD. Do yourself a favor and go with a PS3. they are more reliable and the online gaming is free, not to mention they have a blue-ray built in. Stay away from the xbox crooks!

Exclusivity deals like the 360 version of Rock Band 2 hurts the industry. Either buy Rock Band 2 for another console or hold off buying until the forced exclusivity ends. Purchasing during the 360 exclusive window will encourage deals like this and continue to hurt the console game market.

I own a working original XBOX, Fat PS2, Fat PSP, Nintendo DS, and Wii. All of them working with no issues EVER! I have replaced the XBOX360 five times! The last one died after two days. It is the most unreliable console in history, and now the most expensive, after calculating replacement costs. You WILL be disappointed. I promise you.

It may last 6 months, it may last 1 month, but chances are it WILL fail within the first year. If you send it in for repair, and if Microsoft doesn’t dodge the warranty with fine print, it will fail again shortly thereafter. IT WILL, IT WILL, IT WILL. I have owned EVERY major gaming console made since before Atari! I’m being 100% honest with you, and I have the background to back up what I am saying.

This problem is not the fault of the seller, it is the fault of Microsoft. It has gone through five motherboard and chip redesigns, and Microsoft only admitted fault after it could no longer deny it, because of mass consumer outrage. That should tell you something.

Yes, the games are great, but you’ll never really enjoy it for that long. It’s like a cool looking sports car that breaks down all the time. I advise you to not buy an XBOX 360, even the new Jasper models. The newest model is just a bandaid, instead of the full redesign which is genuinely required.

I cannot recommend anyone to buy this game, especially people of faith. The reason being is that EA has decided to include the ALICE IN CHAINS SONG “MAN IN THE BOX” The song is in its entirety and contains absolute Blasphemy. It takes the Lord’s name in vain and should offend anyone who is a Christian. The line in the song that I have a problem with is: “JESUS CHRIST DENY YOUR MAKER!” As an owner of all of the previous Guitar Hero games and the previous Rock Band game, I am well aware of the content of these games. These are games that I play with my kids. I’m sure I’m not the only Christian Gamer Parent that plays these games with their kids. I don’t want my kids singing “JESUS CHRIST DENY YOUR MAKER” And as a Christian I don’t want to play a game that forces you to sing this song in order to fully complete it.

First let me start off by saying the entire Call of Duty series is a big JOKE! To top things off, XBOX is a horrible console for posers who know NOTHING about video gaming! I don’t get what the hype is all about! This game is terrible and the release of this ‘limited edition’ console is just another money grab from Microsoft! For good graphics, FAST load times, and great choice of games stick with Sega Dreamcast!

For other good consoles try Game Com, Neo Geo, Virtual Boy, Atari, and Sega CD!
